Michael Stipe: Broken Promise "We recorded in London. After we finished ‘Broken Promise’, I had a chance to listen to roughs of the other songs that the guys had been working on. I knew, 3 songs in, that it was a great record. We had a terrific time in the studio, everyone was there throughout the session and open to ideas, Brian and I sang side by side, which doesn’t happen often and created a cool energy for the track. I’m really honored to have been asked, and to be a part of this record."
